FZ - 220kHz - Middle of Nowhere, NY

FZ is the outer marker for an airfield at Fulton, NY. This puts the beacon fabulously remote, up the end of a really long access track in the middle of cleared forest and farmlands. WHen the trees regrow, it will be completely invisible from any finished road. All that said it is a classic FAA COMLO ILS installation, with a fine top-hatted 50' heap of Rohn 25 for the LF beacon. Fulton/Oswego is otherwise best known as the place that regularly gets shown on national TV as being most-snowed-in.
